Tangmarg, July 3(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare, Sakeena Masood Itoo on Friday inaugurated the newly constructed Maternity & Child Block and Operation Theatre at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Tangmarg.
In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Bureau thThe Minister was accompanied by MLA Gulmarg, Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah (IAS Retd.), during the inauguration ceremony, which was attended by senior officials of the Health Department, civil administration, medical officers, local representatives and members of the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government is committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir and ensuring that quality medical facilities are made available closer to the people.
The newly commissioned Maternity & Child Block and Operation Theatre are expected to enhance maternal and child healthcare services in the region while improving the hospital’s capacity to provide specialised treatment to patients from Tangmarg and adjoining areas.
Officials said the upgraded infrastructure will help reduce referrals to tertiary healthcare institutions by enabling the hospital to offer improved diagnostic, surgical and maternity care services locally.
The government reiterated its commitment to upgrading healthcare institutions across the Union Territory to ensure accessible, efficient and quality healthcare for all.(KNB)
