Sopore, June 3(KNB): Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, S.F. Hamid, on Wednesday assured residents of Tarzoo that all genuine grievances related to public welfare, infrastructure, sanitation and civic amenities would be taken up on a priority basis.
The assurance was given during the Block Diwas programme held at Tarzoo, where the Deputy Commissioner interacted with residents, youth, senior citizens, and representatives of various social and community organizations.
During the programme, participants highlighted several issues concerning road connectivity, sanitation, drainage, public utilities, and other developmental requirements of the area. Representatives of the Tarzoo Development Forum also placed their suggestions and demands before the district administration.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration had carefully noted the issues raised by the public and would work towards their timely resolution. He appreciated the residents for presenting their concerns in a constructive and organized manner.
Local youth also sought improvements in sports infrastructure, including the upgradation of the Sheikh-ul-Alam Ground and the development of additional playing fields. The Deputy Commissioner acknowledged the contribution of young people in promoting sports and supporting initiatives aimed at making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.
Among those who raised various public issues during the Block Diwas programme were social activist Aijaz Ahmad Dar, Youth Forum President Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, Social And Political activist Mudasir Gul Bhat, along with senior citizens and representatives of different village forums. They emphasized the need for enhanced civic amenities and accelerated developmental works in the area.
The programme concluded with the administration reiterating its commitment to addressing public concerns and ensuring inclusive development through regular public outreach initiatives such as Block Diwas.(KNB)
