J&K CEGA Reconstitutes Core Team, Calls for Revival of Engineering Dignity and Institutional Reforms.

Srinagar 13 May(KNB): In a significant and extraordinary meeting convened by the J&K CEGA, attended by the elected body of the association along with senior engineers from the Public Works Department and Jal Shakti Department, extensive deliberations were held regarding the future functioning of the association and the evolving administrative scenario following the formation of the political government in Jammu & Kashmir.

The meeting witnessed detailed discussions on the challenges presently confronting the engineering fraternity and strongly emphasized the need for collective action, institutional strengthening, and restoration of professional dignity.

During the meeting, several pressing issues concerning engineers were highlighted, including:

  • Compromising of the dignity and professional status of engineers at various administrative levels despite engineers consistently delivering under challenging circumstances and responding to every assigned task with dedication.
  • The growing trend of “incharge promotions” becoming a permanent mechanism while the process of regularisation continues to remain neglected.
  • The urgent need for implementation of Assured Career Progression for engineers.
  • Strengthening of engineering unity across all departments and cadres.
  • Organizing regular seminars, workshops, and technical interactions for professional development and policy discourse.

On the occasion, the President of J&K CEGA, Er Farooq Ahmad Ganie, announced the dissolution of the existing Executive Council and subsequently constituted a Core Team aimed at revitalizing the association and ensuring wider representation of dedicated engineers.

The newly constituted Core Team includes:

  • Er Nasir Amin as Chief Patron
  • Er Syed Ishfaq as Vice President
  • Er Zubair Naqash as Vice President
  • Er Mudassir Mushtaq Untoo as Additional General Secretary
  • Er Malik Mudassir as Joint Secretary

Besides the elected body comprising:

  • Er Farooq Ahmad Ganie as President
  • Er Irfan Reshi as General Secretary
  • Er. Ashaq Ahmad Ashaq as Treasurer of the association.

The meeting further resolved that, in the first phase, the Core Team shall constitute district-level executive bodies comprising committed and dedicated engineers who can actively contribute towards strengthening the association and safeguarding the interests of the engineering fraternity.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment towards unity, institutional accountability, professional excellence, and safeguarding the collective interests of engineers in Jammu & Kashmir(KNB)
