Anantnag, May 7(KNB): Senior Congress leader and MLA Dooru, Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Thursday said that the Omar Abdullah-led government should take Congress issues on board and ensure better coordination within the coalition setup in Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying ceremony of a Girder Bridge at Peerpora Khar Mohalla Hakura Gird.
Reacting to reports and suggestions from certain quarters that Congress should revoke support to the National Conference in the coalition government, Mir said that every individual has the democratic right to express his opinion.
“Everyone has a right to suggest. But the Omar-led government should take Congress issues in J&K on board. Major issues should be discussed with the party high command, but unfortunately that is missing here,” he said.
When asked about the upcoming Bengal elections, Mir alleged that large-scale voter deletions were carried out with the support of central agencies.
“The loot in Bengal is very unfortunate. In every Assembly segment, around 50,000 votes were allegedly cut with the help of the Election Commission and agencies, which gave an edge to BJP,” he claimed.
He further alleged that the role of agencies and the Election Commission in the process was “against the spirit of democracy.”(KNB)
