Kargil, February 07(KNB): The AN-32 Kargil Courier Service commenced today for the winter season, ensuring continued air connectivity for the people of Kargil during the harsh winter months.
The Indian Air Force crew was welcomed at Kargil Airport by Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz, along with Deputy Commissioner, Kargil Rakesh Kumar, Addl. Deputy Commissioner Kargil Imteeaz Kacho and other senior officers.
At Srinagar Airport, the AN-32 aircraft crew was received by Er Aamir Ali, Chief Coordinator, Kargil Courier, Airport Director Srinagar, along with senior officers from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), CISF, BCAS, Station Manager AIASL, Liaison Officer and Assistant Liaison Officers.
On the first day of operation, 29 passengers were lifted from Kargil to Srinagar and 53 passengers from Srinagar to Kargil, including children, infants and patients.(KNB)
