Srinagar, Jan 3 (KNB): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Kashmir on Saturday conducted a raid at the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Shaltang and arrested a daily-wage employee red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe, sources said.
Sources told that the ACB team carried out the operation during which an individual was caught accepting a bribe amount of Rs 2,000.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Layiq Nath, son of Mohd Sadiq Nath, a resident of Barthana, Qamarwari. He was working as an NYC operator on a daily-wage basis in the Tehsil Office Shaltang.
In this regard, FIR No. 01/2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar.
Sources added that the raid was ongoing at the time of filing this report and further details are awaited. (KNB)
