Rafiabad July 25(KNB):In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering local youth, the Indian Army—through its Kilo Force—joined hands with the District Administration Baramulla, Naam Foundation (Pune), and Aseem Foundation (Maharashtra) to inaugurate the newly enhanced Youth Dangiwucha Skill Development Training Centre in Dangiwucha, Rafiabad.

The ceremony was attended by top dignitaries, including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Kilo Force, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, SSP Sopore, senior officials from civil administration and the Indian Army, and representatives from Naam and Aseem foundations. Prominent citizens and civil society members also marked their presence, underscoring the community’s enthusiastic support.

This centre, which has already imparted computer training to over 1,200 youth, has undergone a major upgrade. It now boasts improved infrastructure and expanded programs tailored to the needs of the region. The upgraded facility will offer:

  • Three-month certificate courses in basic computer education
  • Skill training in grading and packaging of walnuts and dry fruits, aligned with local economic practices

DC Baramulla, speaking at the event, stated:

“This initiative represents a collective effort by the Army, District Administration, and our partner foundations. It provides meaningful opportunities for skill development and job creation, and we are committed to expanding this model to other parts of the district.”

The collaborative effort showcases a successful model of public-private-military partnership focused on sustainable development and youth empowerment. By integrating local industries with vocational education, the centre aims to foster employment and entrepreneurial growth in the valley.
