Ramban 18 Feb(KNB): A 27-year-old man, Muhammad Abid, detained for alleged involvement in multiple theft cases, died in police custody in Ramban district.
According to reports reached to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB that Abid, a resident of Thopal village in Batote, complained of uneasiness in the lockup on Tuesday and was shifted to a health center, where he passed away
Ramban District Magistrate Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident, appointing Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rizwan Asgar as the inquiry officer. The officer will investigate the circumstances surrounding Abid’s death and submit a report within a week.(KNB)
