Rajouri 22 Jan(KNB): Three more cases of the mysterious illness have been reported in Badhaal, Rajouri, with the patients being shifted for advanced medical attention.
A 25-year-old youth, Aijaz Ahmad, was taken to GMC Jammu and then to PGI Chandigarh after showing symptoms of the disease. Two more cases were reported on Wednesday, and the patients are also being shifted for further treatment.
The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, visited the Koteranka area to oversee the situation. The mysterious illness has claimed 17 lives in the past 50 days, and the government is still trying to determine the cause of the deaths.
Despite ruling out viral or bacterial infections, the Badhaal area has been declared a containment zone, with the houses of affected families sealed and their close contacts being monitored.(KNB)
