Srinagar, November 1 (KNB): Suspected militants fired upon two non-locals in Mazhama Magam area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday evening.
The victims, Sanjay and Usman, both from Uttar Pradesh, were working on the Jal Jeevan Project in the region. They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and are reported to be in stable condition, according to officials
Police have cordoned off, and a massive search operation is underway to nab the attackers.(KNB)
The incident has sparked concern among the local population and migrant workers.
“This incident has created fear among us. We urge the authorities to provide adequate security to ensure our safety,” said a local resident, wishing to remain anonymous.
The police have launched an investigation into the attack and are working to identify the perpetrators.
“We will not tolerate such acts of violence and will take all necessary measures to maintain law and order in the region,” assured SSP Saleem.
