Two Soldier Killed, Two Other Injured in Kishtwar Gunfight

Kishtwar 13 Sep(KNB): A fierce gunbattle between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district resulted in the death of two soldier and left two others injured on Friday evening.

According to police officials, the encounter occurred during a cordon and search operation launched by security forces in the Naidgham area of the Chhatroo belt, following a tip-off about terrorist presence.

The operation led to an exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists hiding in the Pingnal Dugadda forest, located in the upper reaches of Naidgham village under the Chhatroo Police Station.

The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army confirmed the incident on X, stating that a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police was initiated based on intelligence inputs.

The soliders were identified as Nb Sub Vipin Kumar and Sep Arvind Singh. The search operation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.(KNB)
