Jailed Sarjan Barkati likely to Contest Elections from Langate

Srinagar, September 7(KNB): Jailed Sarjan Barkati is likely to contest the upcoming elections from Langate constituency apart from, Ganderbal, and Beerwah.

According to family sources, Barkati will file his nomination papers from Langate constituency, in addition to Ganderbal and Beerwah, where he had already announced his candidacy.

In Ganderbal, Barkati will face off against National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, making the contest a high-profile one. The move is seen as a significant development in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, and is likely to generate considerable interest in the upcoming elections
