Srinagar 20 August(KNB): In a significant political development, Apni Party vice president Zafar Iqbal Manhas and his son Irfan Manhas have resigned from the party.
According to sources, they are likely to join the Congress party tomorrow in the presence of senior leader Rahul Gandhi.
Zafar Manhas confirmed his resignation stating that he will decide his future course of action after consulting with his workers. A meeting with his workers is currently underway at his residence, and a final decision is expected soon.
Manhas, one of the founding members of the Apni Party, had previously parted ways with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His son Irfan Manhas is currently serving as the vice chairperson of the DDC Council in Shopian.(KNB)
