Ganderbal 17 Aug(KNB): Heavy rainfall in the Hassanabad area of Ganderbal on Saturday morning led to flash floods in the region, causing widespread damage.
Muddy water swept over the Kangan road, inundating the main market and several residential houses. Agricultural fields and crops were also damaged in the floodwaters.
Locals blamed the failed drainage system for the flash floods, stating that it has become a recurring issue in the area. “Whenever there’s rainfall, the area gets flooded,” they said.
The flash floods caused significant disruption to daily life, highlighting the need for improved infrastructure to mitigate the effects of heavy rainfall.(KNB)
