Kulgam, August 15(KNB):- Tragedy struck the Damhal Hanjipora area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Thursday when cloudburst swept through the Banward area of DH Pora, leaving a trail of destruction and claiming the life of one man.
Mukhtar Ahmad Chouhan, a resident of Bangward Bala, lost his life in the disaster, while his brother, Rafakat Ahmad Chouhan, suffered injuries. The brothers are sons of Mohammad Hussain Chouhan.
Eyewitnesses said the cloudburst struck without warning, prompting a swift rescue operation by authorities. Despite their efforts, Mukhtar succumbed to his injuries, while Rafakat is receiving medical attention.
The police and civil administration have deployed teams to the affected area to provide assistance and support to those affected by the cloudburst. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of natural disasters and the importance of being prepared and taking necessary precautions.(KNB)
