Srinagar, August 2(KNB): The body of a teenage girl who jumped into the Jhelum River from Habba Kadal bridge was recovered on Friday morning, officials confirmed.
According to authorities, the girl’s body was retrieved from the river near Chattabal after a two-day rescue operation by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
A video of the incident had gone viral on social media, showing the girl jumping into the river. The SDRF team had launched a rescue operation immediately after the incident, but the body was only recovered this morning.
The police have taken up the investigation into the matter, and the girl’s identity is being withheld for now.(KNB)
