Srinagar Admin Initiates Fencing of Bridges to Save Lives

Srinagar, August 1 (KNB): The administration in Srinagar has initiated the fencing of several bridges, including Nawa Kadal, Fateh Kadal, Gow Kadal, Safa Kadal and Noorbagh Cement Bridge in Qamarwari. This measure aims to address the alarming rise in suicides from these bridges.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has said that the fencing work is expected to be completed by September 10, 2024. “This initiative is crucial to save precious human lives,” the DC stated.

In recent years, these bridges have become hotspots for suicides, with numerous youngsters, both boys and girls, taking their lives.

The fencing project comes in response to persistent public demand for protective measures to prevent such tragic incidents.(KNB)
