Abu Bakar Colony Baghat Faces Severe Water Shortage, Pleas to Jal Shakti Department Fall on Deaf Ears

Srinagar, July 29(KNB): Residents of Abu Bakar Colony Baghat Barzulla are facing a severe drinking water crisis, alleging that their pleas to the Jal Shakti department have fallen on deaf ears. The crisis, which has been ongoing for over a month, has left the residents struggling to access basic necessities.

According to reports, residents have repeatedly approached the Jal Shakti department, but no concrete steps have been taken to address their concerns. “We are finding it impossible to survive without water,” said one resident, speaking to the Kashmir News Bureau

Another resident echoed similar sentiments, stating that requests for a water tanker vehicle have gone unheeded.

When contacted, Axen Jal Shakti claimed that no one from the colony had approached them, and asked the reporter to provide details of the issue. However, residents alleged that they have made numerous attempts to seek help from the department.

In a desperate appeal, the residents have turned to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, urging him to intervene and direct the Jal Shakti department to resolve the issue. “We request the Lt. Governor to provide us with drinking water through water tanker vehicles until a permanent solution is found,” said a resident.

The crisis highlights the struggles faced by residents in accessing basic amenities, and the need for prompt action from authorities to address such issues.(KNB)
