Patiala House Court Grants Custody Parole to MP Engineer Rashid

New Delhi 02 July(KNB): In a relief to independent MP Engineer Rashid, the Patiala House Court in Delhi has granted him two hours of custody parole to take his oath as a Member of Parliament on July 5.

Rashid, who is currently in custody, had petitioned the court for interim bail or custody parole to enable him to attend the oath-taking ceremony in Parliament.

The court’s decision comes as a reprieve for Rashid, allowing him to fulfill his constitutional obligation as a newly elected MP. The brief custody parole will enable him to take his oath and formally assume his role as a parliamentarian.(KNB)
