Hoshiarpur June 29(KNB): A devastating road accident on the Hoshiarpur-Tanda road has claimed the lives of four members of a family from Jammu, including two children. The car, bearing a Jammu and Kashmir registration number, collided head-on with a truck near Adda Saran, approximately 25 kilometers from Hoshiarpur.
According to police reports, the car was traveling from Jammu when it rammed into the truck, resulting in the instantaneous death of four occupants – two men, including the driver, and two children aged six and fourteen. The truck driver fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind.
A woman who was also in the car suffered serious injuries and was referred to a hospital in Amritsar for further treatment. The identities of the deceased and the injured woman have not been disclosed yet.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination to Civil Hospital, Dasuya. Deputy Superintendent of Police Harjit Singh has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.(KNB)
