Superspeciality OPD for infertility conducted at Well Care Medical Institute; received massive response

Srinagar 29 June (KNB): A free camp for childless couples was conducted on Friday at Well Care Medical Institute(WMI) Ahmadnagar in association with Fertigyn (assisted reproductive technology/IVF centre, Hyderpora)by Dr Anam ul Haq,super specialist (MD,MCh) in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery .

Dr Anam said,”there has been a sharp decline in the total fertility rate (TFR) in UT. The fertility rate has come down from 2 to 1.4, which is far below the national average of 2 since the year 2015-16.

He further said that, “there are many causes for the decreased fertility in males like Azoospermia and Asthenospermia while as Endometriosis or fibroids, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Polyps in the uterus, , Scar tissue or adhesions, Chronic medical illness are some of the reasons for female infertility”.

Tajamul Islam, administrator & spokesperson of WMI said, ” the camp received a massive response, not only from district Srinagar but from different regions of Kashmir valley and on public demand we will be conducting another infertility camp on coming Friday”.

Dr Masood ul Hassan, Medical Director WMI said, “our aim is to reach the general public so that they get benefitted through these type of camps.Patients in the camp received free consultation and in addition to that free Screening USG was also done.(KNB)
