NHM J&K Releases April 2024 Rankings for Public Health Facilities

Srinagar, JUNE 11 (KNB): The National Health Mission (NHM) J&K today announced the rankings of public health facilities based on the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), JK e-Sahaj, for April 2024. This initiative evaluates various health institutions in J&K, encompassing Government Medical Colleges (GMCs), District Hospitals (DHs) and Community Health Centres (CHCs).

Top Performers in New Govt. Medical Colleges
In the category of New Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) with associated hospitals, GMC Rajouri secured the top position. Following closely were GMC Kathua, GMC Udhampur, GMC Baramulla and GMC Doda. Conversely, the bottom performers in this category included MCCH Anantnag, GMC Handwara and GMC Anantnag.

Leading District Hospitals
Among District Hospitals, DH Shopian emerged as the top-ranked facility, followed by DH Reasi, DH Ganderbal, DH Kishtwar and Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar. The bottom five performers in this category were DH Ramban, DH Kulgam, DH JLNM Srinagar, DH Samba and DH Pulwama.

Best Community Health Centres
For Community Health Centres (CHCs), CHC Hira Nagar in Kathua led the rankings. Other top CHCs included CHC Langate in Kupwara, CHC Kralgund in Kupwara, CHC Mendhar in Poonch and CHC Nagam in Budgam. The lowest-ranked CHCs were CHC Thanamandi in Rajouri, CHC Yaripora in Kulgam, CHC Zachaldara in Kupwara, CHC Ramnagar in Udhampur and CHC Khansaheb in Budgam.

About JK e-Sahaj
The JK e-Sahaj (Electronic System for Automation of Hospital Administration in J&K) was formally launched on November 4, 2022, by the Lieutenant Governor of J&K as part of the Jashn-e-Sehat initiative. This system integrates various facilities, including tertiary care, district hospitals and CHCs. Additionally, JK e-Sahaj is integrated with the Rapid Assessment System (RAS), the 104 Centralised Health Helpline for outbound calling and the RCH portal of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Ranking Criteria
The rankings are based on several criteria: the number of registrations, the conversion rate of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), the registration of inpatient department (IPD) patients and patient feedback uploaded on the JK e-Sahaj portal for April 2024. These evaluations are conducted in real-time to ensure accuracy and transparency.
