Jammu 22 Jan(KNB): Healthcare experts from Australia, the United Kingdom and India arrived in Jammu over the weekend to participate in a two-day workshop tailored for AIIMS-Jammu and other local healthcare providers/hospitals.
The workshop is being held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Jammu and will focus on “Healthcare Leadership, Operational Excellence and Digitalisation”.
The workshop includes keynote presentations and roundtable discussion sessions on various topics related to leadership, improvements, and digitalisation. Mentoring emerging female leaders is a special feature of the workshop. It includes knowledge-building exercises and the development of pilot projects that will eventually be implemented by AIIMS-Jammu.
Director of AIIMS-Jammu, Professor Dr Shakti Gupta, inaugurated the workshop in the afternoon on Monday, 22 January; Professor Y.K. Gupta, President of AIIMS-Jammu, delivered the Keynote address.
This workshop is building upon the highly successful one-day workshop held in February 2023 which was organised by Professor Amrik Sohal from Monash Business School, Monash University, Australia. The previous workshop focussed on “Building Lean, Green and Digital Hospitals.”
In this workshop, the focus is on building the necessary capability to enhance hospital leadership, undertake process improvements and start the process of digitalisation of all administrative processes.
The British High Commission in New Delhi and Chevening Alumni Programme Fund are also associated with the programme.
The visit to Jammu has been coordinated by Professor Amrik Sohal (Monash University, Australia) and Dr Kamal Gulati (AIIMS-Delhi), including Professor Julie Davies (University College London) and Professor Chris Hicks (Newcastle University, UK).
Faculty, Staff and Doctoral/MBA students from IIM-Jammu and IIT-Jammu are also taking part in this two-day workshop.
The international delegation will also be visiting IIM-Jammu campus and take part in a half-day workshop on “Doing Research in the Health Sector”. They will be visiting the new AIIMS-Jammu campus at Vijaypur where they will have discussions with staff of various departments.(KNB)
