Lives of over five thousand people, half dozen villages jeopardized due to administrative insouciance – JKPP
Lolab, 7th September(KNB): Castigating present regime over repeated failures across all sectors, JK People’s Party Chief Sheeban Ashai lashed out at administrative ineptness in erstwhile state.
Ashai in statement issued to news agency KNB said, “What one earth can justify a delay of whopping thirteen years in completion of a simple bridge. At a time when govt is bragging about moon landings and technological advancement, what explains such harrowing tales from Kashmir? Authorities have been watching as mute spectators as lives of thousands were put at risk due to incompletion of Aafan Warnow bridge over Warnow stream in Kupwara,Lolab. As per locals concerned departments left the construction work midway. Following approval of bridge, construction started but was confined to construction of two abutments.
Wooden bridge that is used to cross the nallah poses threat to women, children and elderly. About half of dozen villages including Lone mohalla, Qureshi mohalla, Bajard Mohalla, Shori Mohalla, Bhat Mohalla and Mir Mohalla are suffering badly in absence of proper bridge connectivity. Ashai lambasted nonchalance of previous regimes and elected representatives of the area for such grievances & loathsome state of affairs.
He asked why did LG administration ever since 5th August also turn a blind eye towards such a genuine concern. Ashai assured people of Lolab that Jammu Kashmir People’s Party would intervene and ensure completion of the project by taking it up with concerned authorities”. Party top brass resented such detestable treatment meted out to people of Warnow and assured intervention at highest level for completion of bridge. Party leadership also impressed upon people to introspect over incompetence of elected representatives from last thirteen years, who have even failed to ensure road connectivity to their villages.(KNB)
