Baramulla 14 April (KNB): In a bid to address the shortage of blood supply in Tangmarg, Jahangir Bhat, a social activist, has appealed to the authorities to establish a Blood Bank facility at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Tangmarg.
Bhat expressed his concerns about the lack of adequate blood supply in the Tangmarg region, which has led to patients facing difficulties in receiving timely medical treatment. He emphasized the need for a dedicated Blood Bank facility in the SDH Tangmarg, which could help address this critical issue.
Bhat said, “The absence of a Blood Bank facility at the SDH Tangmarg is a serious concern for the residents of Tangmarg. Patients often have to travel to Srinagar and Baramulla, which is not only time-consuming but also expensive. Establishing a Blood Bank facility at the SDH would not only save valuable time and money but also help save precious lives.”
Bhat further highlighted that the establishment of a Blood Bank facility at the SDH Tangmarg would also benefit the neighboring areas, including Gulmarg, Kunzer, and Beerwah.
The SDH Tangmarg is the primary healthcare facility for the Tangmarg region, catering to a population of over 50,000 people. The hospital lacks a Blood Bank facility, and patients have to rely on blood banks in Srinagar, which is approximately 40 kilometers away.
Bhat has appealed to the authorities to take immediate steps to establish a Blood Bank facility at the SDH Tangmarg, to ensure that the people of Tangmarg and neighboring areas have access to timely and quality medical treatment.
In conclusion, the establishment of a Blood Bank facility at the SDH Tangmarg is a pressing need that cannot be overlooked. The authorities must take urgent steps to address this issue and ensure that the people of Tangmarg and the surrounding areas have access to a reliable and safe Blood Bank facility.
