Death of Ashiq Unfortunate: AIP
Srinagar 6 Oct (KNB): J&K Awami Ittihaad Party(AIP) today condemned the killing of a civilian in Pulwama on yesterday.AIP has said that the incident has took place when the Amit Shah was claiming that he would talk to youth of Kashmir. Awami Ittihaad Party AIP Spokesperson Firdous Baba in a statement has said that during the previous visit of Home Minister also a civilian was shot dead by the forces in the same area. Firdous Baba said. “While it was nice to hear that Home Minister offering talks to youth but at the same time puncturing the baloon of his talk offer by a so called accidental fire and ruining the family of another youth has put a huge question mark between what Home Minister says in public domain and what his government does in practice. Home Minister while attacking NC and PDP may have some reasoning and legitimate questions to ask them but he should not forget that first Omar Abdullah was a Minister in BJP lead government at the center and when Mufti Sayeed become the Home Minister BJP was the supporting then VP Singh Government. Home Minister should also not forget that both Mufti Sayeed and Mehbooba Ji were into alliance with BJP in state, so BJP cannot run away from any such thing these two families are being accused of having done wrong.” Spokesperson urged government to move beyond creating division in name of Paharis, Gujjars, Shias, Sunnys, Dogras and Kashmiris. Firdous Baba said. “Giving rights to Gujjars or Paharis is no favour to them, it is just their right. But however if BJP wants to win hearts of the people of these communities it should facilite the dignified return of those thousands of families of Keran, Karnah, Uri, Gurez, Rajori, Ponch and other border areas who were forced to flee other side of the LoC early 90s due to cross border shelling. Like Kashmiri Pandits their sufferings are huge and should be taken care of. Home Minister should also had announced citizenship rights to all those ladies who came via Nepal in along with their families from Pakistan who had availed the facility of union government’s amnesty scheme. Their miseries are endless and their children are suffering. Let Home Minister answer why doesn’t his government speak a word on these humanitarian issues.” Spokesperson said that while it was welcome that Home Minister offered talks to Kashmiris but he should not forget that the legitimate leadership of Kashmiris is laying in Jail and talks cannot take place in vaccum.(KNB)
