AIP asks Amit Shah announce concrete confidence building measures during his visit
Reminds him of Modi’s promises to youth at Jammu
Srinagar 2 Oct (KNB): Reminding Prime Minister Modi of his assurance to youth of valley that he will ensure that they live a better and dignified life than their ancestors who suffered a lot since 1989 due to turmoil. AIP has urged Home Minister Amit Shah to take concrete confidence building measures on eve of his visit to J&K to put some weight behind what Modi Ji had promised at Jammu. In Ittihaad Party AIP Spokesperson Firdous Baba appealed Home Minister to announce amnesty for hundreds of youth languishing in Jails in and outside J&K, withdraw cases against political leaders and an end to reign of oppression against common people. Firdous Baba stated that it should be followed by a meaningful dialogue to the legitimate stake holders of J&K to address all the issues of grave concern which people are facing both at the administrative and political fronts. Spokesperson reminded Home Minister while he has been engaging various groups in North East who had a long history of revolting against the state, why should his government feel shy and run away from talking to people of Jammu and Kashmir and address the internal dimension of Jammu and Kashmir issue. If Modi and Amit Shah mean their words then it is appropriate time to end the uncertainty and listen the voices of people of Jammu and Kashmir rather than muzzling their legitimate voices.KNB
