Kulgam, Sept 27 (KNB): An encounter broke out between police,security agencies and militants in Awhatoo village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Bureau (KNB) that a joint of team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving credible inputs regarding the presence of militants in the area jointly launched a cardon and search operation in the area.
He said that while the joint team of forces immensed searches towards the suspected area, hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated by the security agencies, triggering an encounter.
He further added, that the exchange of fire was still going on and it is said that two militants are believed to be trapped in the area(KNB)
