No dearth of talent in J&K, need to identify talented lot: Kavinder

JAMMU 24 Sep(KNB): Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory has no dearth of talent but there is need for identifying the talented lot and providing them the best available coaching so that they find their rightful place in the national and international events.
This was stated by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister while speaking at the Judo Competition organized under My Youth My Pride at Judo Hall, MA Stadium Jammu. In the competitions more than 300 Judokas participated in the competition.
Kavinder Gupta said that the initiative taken by the BJP Government at the Centre will go a long way in promoting sports culture in the Union Territory of J&K. He said that by way of incentivizing sports through various bountiful offers including jobs and promotions in jobs under the New Sports Policy, the J&K government has opened up the floodgates for the youth to join sporting arena and lead the world. But need of the hour is that people sitting at the helm of affairs should ensure that the benefit of New Sports Policy percolates to the last man practicing at the playground to fetch maximum out of it.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that this endeavour of the government will not only provide jobs and other incentives to the youth including cash prizes but will also keep them at a distance from drugs and other evils of society. He said that the step of the government will beyond any doubt has created a win-win situation for the youth and their families and soon the results in the shape of meaningful citizens will start coming in the UT of J&K.
Kavinder asked the J&K Sports Council to proactively involve in promoting sports for which it must focus on providing adequate sports facilities, diet and sponsorship to sports aspirants so that our sportspersons will be able to brining more medals for J&K.
Others presented were Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, Suraj Parkash, General Secretary Judo Association, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Sports Complex and coaches.(KNB)
