Both militants were locals, involved in series of attacks on Non Locals labourers: IGP
Pulwama 28 April(KNB): Two Militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Mitrigam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police official said.
According to news agency Kashmir News Bureau-KNB 2 local Al Badr militants killed in overnight encounter in Mitrigam village of Pulwama district.
The police official identified them as Both as Aijaz Hafiz & Shahid Ayub, of Al-Badr outfit. 02 AK rifles were also recovered recovered.
“They had been involved in series of attacks on outside labourers in Pulwama in the month of March-April 2022,” IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said.
While confirming the news, the Kashmir Police Zone quoting IGP Kashmir said in a tweet that “Both killed terrorists identified as local terrorists namely Aijaz Hafiz & Shahid Ayub, of Al-Badr outfit. 02 AK rifles recovered. They had been involved in series of attacks on outside labourers in Pulwama in the month of March-April 2022.”
Earlier, On a specific information about the presence of militants in the area, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Mitrigam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama.
“The search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired upon the forces, who retaliated,” Officials said.(KNB)
