Srinagar 28 December (KNB): Lieutenant Governor J&K Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said that under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme, Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) had recorded its highest-ever performance in job creation.
It was announced by LG Sinha on social media platform after chairing a meeting with the officials of J&K Khadi Village Industries Board & Dept. of Industries & Commerce. “KVIB recorded its highest ever performance in job creation under the PMEGP,” announced LG on social media platform.
He further added that “In FY 2021-22, till 25th Dec KVIB against the target of 26,000 jobs generated 90,000 jobs across J&K, providing impetus to Atma-Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan & Vocal for Local.”
LG also said that steps are being taken for product upgradation of products manufactured by KVIB Units.
“Our thrust is to support cottage & village industry, strengthening traditional art and creating sustainable employment for artisans,” said LG Sinha. (KNB)
