To Prevent Militant Attacks on Migrant Labourers, Robust Security, Intelligence Grid in Place: MoS Home Affairs N Rai

Srinagar 14 December (KNB): Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai on Tuesday said in the Parliament that a robust security and intelligence grid has been put in place to prevent any militant attacks on migrant labourers in the valley. 

He further said as per an official communique that “in addition, day & night area domination, patrolling and proactive operations against militants are being carried out in the areas where migrant labourers work/reside.”  

Besides, round the clock checking at Nakas, Road Opening Parties are being adequately augmented at strategic points to thwart any militant attack on migrant labourers in Kashmir, said Rai in Parliament. 

He further added that the migrant labourers from different parts of the country usually come to the valley every year in the month of April/May and return to their native places during winter season after completing their seasonal work in the valley. 

“Several steps have been taken for the safety and security of the migrant labourers who are expected to return to the Valley after the winter ends,” Rai said.  (KNB)
