Police Arrests Bootlegger in Baramulla, Recover 20 Bottles of Liquor

Srinagar 22 November (KNB): Police on Monday said that they have arrested a bootlegger in North Kashmir Baramulla and recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession.

An official said in a statement that a police party of Police Station Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla at a NHW Khawajabagh checkpoint intercepted a suspicious person who tried to escape from the spot, however, the alert Police party tactfully apprehended him. 

It was said the person has been identified as Harjeet Singh, a resident of Singhbagh Baramulla.

However, it further said that on checking, 20 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession and was later arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.

Pertinently, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in the Police Station and investigation initiated. (KNB)
