Bandipora 15 Nov(KNB): As winter approaches, Power Development Department (PDD) has plunged many areas of Bandipora district into darkness, causing inconvenience to the people.
Metered areas are witnessing unscheduled power outage for longer hours particularly Aloosa village and adjoining areas of bandipora district.
Talking to news gathering agency Kashmir News Bureau (KNB), one of the local said, “It’s very difficult to survive without electricity in this harsh winter, as the frequent electricity cuts are making our life miserable.
“Despite our village is metered, then why power cuts, we are paying fee as per the power consumption units,” said Irfan Ahmad.
However, according to official the power demand has increased since few days due to winter as people are using heating gadgets like electric blowers, power blankets, heaters, geysers, and other warming devices.
“Locals in Bandipora have expressed disappointment over the daily power cuts, said that the many patients are on oxygen concentrators as covid has not ended yet.”
“We have been forced to spend the majority of time in the dark because “electricity plays hide and seek in our village,” said another local.(KNB)
