Srinagar 21 September (KNB): With the rainfall in the evening yesterday lashing the Srinagar city and other parts, more rains are expected by the Meteorological department during today evening in Kashmir.
As per latest weather update from the MeT, officials said that in Kashmir division there is presently at most places a partly cloudy weather and a brief spell of light rainfall is expected on Tuesday evening in the valley.
However, the officials further said that a brief spell of light rainfall is also likely going to be observed in Kathua, Samba and other districts of Jammu division today. The timing of the expected rainfall was not mentioned by the officials. “Generally cloudy at most places with possibility of a brief spell of light rain in the South East of Jammu areas like Kathua, Samba etc.,” reads the MeT update.
It further said that the sky is going to remain mainly clear for next one week but a brief spell of light rain may occur at isolated places.
Further, MeT also said that the moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lighting over Mirpur, Nowshera, Reasi, and Katra areas will continue for 1 to 2 hours from now.
Pertinent to mention that in the evening yesterday, the roads of Srinagar city and other areas were almost submerged by the heavy downpour with chaos unfolding on the streets. (KNB)
