Srinagar 17 August (KNB): India reported 25,166 new novel coronavirus cases, which is the lowest in 154 days and 437 deaths in the Last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 432079, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
As per the Health Ministry, India’s active caseload currently stands at 3,69,846 which is the lowest in 146 days and active cases constitute 1.15 per cent of the total cases and is the lowest since March 2020.
Recovery rate currently stands at 97.51 per cent and is the highest since March 2020, the Health Ministry said and added that there have been a total of 3,14,48,754 recoveries across the country so far.
“36,830 patients recovered during last 24 hours,” the Ministry said.
As per the MoHFW, Weekly positivity rate currently stands at 1.98 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for last 53 days. Daily positivity rate stands at 1.61 per cent, which is less than 3 per cent for last 22 days.
Moreover, according to the Health Ministry, with more than 88.13 lakh vaccine doses administered in last 24 hours, highest ever vaccination has been achieved in a single day.
“55.47 Cr. vaccine doses have been administered so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive,” they added.
Testing capacity has been substantially ramped up and a total of 49.66 crore tests have been conducted across the nation. (KNB)
