Srinagar 12 August (KNB): Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday ordered a constitution of four member committee headed by chairperson to oversee rationalization of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in the UT.
The order copy lying with Kashmir News Bureau said that “Sanction is hereby accorded to the constitution of a Committee, comprising following officers, to oversee the rationalization of Higher Educational Institutions in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.”
It further said that the committee would have an Administrative Secretary, Higher Education Department as its chairperson and also have four members which include — Director General (Budget), Finance Department; Director General (Codes), Finance Department; Director (Finance), Higher Education Department and Director (Planning), Higher Education Department.
The Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Committee, as per order, shall be as to study the requirements of Higher Educational Institutions in the Union Territory, Rationalization of existing Higher Educational Institutions in the Union territory and Recommending the criteria for opening of future Higher Educational Institutions in the Union territory.
“The Committee shall be serviced by the Higher Education Department and shall submit its report within a period of 15 days,” the order reads. (KNB)
