Srinagar 27 July (KNB): The venerated structure of Srinagar Civil Secretariat’s name can be seen incomplete as the alphabet “L” on the structure goes off the wall.
As the civil secretariat has of late been painted with white colour on its outer walls which gives a different look than its previous one, the whole structure now seems to be unseemly as one of the embossed alphabets of the civil secretariat i.e., “L” is missing from it.
It is hard to know whether the alphabet has been dislodged or detached by its own, but what is sure, is that the catching of the eyesore site — Civi Secretariat in bold alphabets — by those looking after its maintenance cannot be ruled out.
The secretariat houses a number of important offices of different officials and is considered a most venerated place given the important activities taking place in it.
It seems as if the civil secretariat is going through a rough patch; first, the J&K government admonished the employees of secretariat recently for not following Covid SOPs, which impliedly tantamount to disrespect to the secretariat; second, the blithely keeping of alphabet L off from the secretariat’s wall as no one seems to be concerned towards it.
Now only time will tell when the alphabet L is going to be attached back at its original place or is it too going to be stuck in a red-tapism. (KNB)
