Srinagar 16 July (KNB): Two unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter in Alamdar Colony, Danmar Syedpora, Eidgah area of Srinagar, said police on Friday morning.
As per officials, the encounter started in wee hours of morning after a cordon and search operation was carried out by security forces comprising of Army, Police and CRPF following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
However, the holed up militants fired upon the searching parties, which ensued a gunfight between the two sides.
In the gunfight, police said that two unidentified militants have been killed in Srinagar’s Danmar area.
Pertinent to mention that the searches were going on at the encounter site following the killing of two militants, as per police. (KNB)
