Srinagar 12 July (KNB): Following the cloudburst in Central Kashmir Ganderbal’s Waterlar area of Lar Tehsil, flash floods occured in the early morning, causing damages to several houses in the area.
As per reports, the incident occured in the early morning when the cloudburst resulted in flash flood. However, locals said that the SDRF team reached the area to initiate the rescue operation.
One of the locals blamed the authorities for not paying heed to the requests for removing the encroachments on the Charnari Stream. “Since 3 am morning we are in the water when the cloudburst occurred,” the local said.
He further said that their houses have also been damaged due to gushing water. He also alleged that no official had reached the spot since morning despite some police and SDRF personnel.
The local further alleged he had two months ago registered online grievance but nothing happens since then. (KNB)
