Samoon Stresses on Updation of Recruitment Rules in SDD

Srinagar 17 June (KNB): Principal Secretary to Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today urged the officers of the department to complete all the formalities for updating recruitment rules for both gazetted and non-gazetted category of employees.

A statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau said that Dr Samoon asked them to keep public interest on their mind while framing such rules. He maintained that since recruitment rules do not have any retrospective effect so it is prudent to safeguard interests of those already serving the department.  He emphasised on them to complete the process as soon as possible.

The Principal Secretary asked the SDD to create websites for all the institutions not having one currently and update all others. He said that these websites should be all inclusive. He asked them to make available all the information required by the surfers so that they are not put to unease for want of the same. He advised them to make these websites Ministry of IT guidelines compliant and keep updating its content as it changes.

Dr Samoon, in order to augment the infrastructure in these skill imparting institutions, asked the officers to create facilities of e-libraries, computer labs in meeting halls so that these halls are put to good use once not in demand for meetings.

He prompted them to constitute a Citizen’s Charter for the department and asked them to display it in every institution and office of the department. He further exhorted upon them to make people aware about the addresses and phone numbers of different watchdogs inside and outside the department.

The meeting was informed that the department is in the process of updating their recruitment rules in collaboration with the Department of ARI & Trainings. Besides it was informed that the department is soon going to create websites of institutions not having any currently. Moreover 6 ITIs would launch their websites till the end of the month.

The meeting was further apprised that some 587 computers are going to be installed in Polytechnic colleges and ITIs. Moreover the provision of high speed internet facility has been created in every institution as per earlier directions.

The Principal Secretary was also informed that a total of 7500 files has been scanned out of which 3000 has also been converted into pdf format and the process is going to be completed till the end of this month. It was said the process has made the records tampering proof and long-lasting. (KNB)
