Srinagar 02 June (KNB): Budgam police on Wednesday said that a hit and run case in which a person died on his way to hospital on Sunday, has been solved by police within 72 hours.
As per an official, Pakherpora post on May 30 received information that a motorcycle bearing registration no JK04D-3274 driven by Muzaffar Ahmad Lone, 25, was hit by an unknown vehicle near Futlipora Pakherpora.
However following the incident, the driver along with the vehicle fled away from the spot. Later on, a case FIR number 56/2012 under sections 279, 337-IPC was registered in Police Station Charar-e-Sharief and investigation was taken up, the police said.
During the investigation, police team of police station Charar-e-sharief put forth all the efforts to identify and arrested the person involved in the commission of the crime, the police official said, various suspects were summoned and questioned and some analysis was also done which led to some clues. Finally after lot of hard work, police identified and arrested the accused from Shopian area.
The police further said that the arrested driver has been identified as Jehangir Ahmad Dar and the vehicle Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK03F 5883 involved in the commission of offence has also been seized. (KNB)
