Srinagar 01 June (KNB): As the J&K government decided to ease out the lockdown by putting in place the guidelines, Director SKIMS A G Ahangar hailed the step of administration.
Ahangar said that it was the right decision. He said while talking to reporters that everyone is apprised that we have to face the Coronavirus. Director further said that at the moment the virus is in the shape of Pandemic and later it would be in endemic form. He said it to make clear that the virus is not going away quickly.
He further said that we will live with the corona and it is going to remain with us after the formation of herd immunity and decrease in Covid positivity rate. “Therefore, the lockdown is not a permanent solution to live under. We have to open our institutions and our economy also needs to be restored,” Ahangar said.
Replying to a reporter’s question, Ahangar said the decision to impose lockdown and lifting it is pondered upon by the government because both decisions are essential in their suitable circumstances. (KNB)
