Shopian 15 March (KNB): Encounter resumed as teams of forces establish contact with third militant in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Officials said that contact was established with another (third) militant at the Rawalpora encounter site and the operation is going on.
Pertinent to mention that earlier, officials confirmed that two militants were killed during the encounter which raged on Saturday evening and is still going on.
Officials also said that a top Jaish commander Sajad Afghani was among the two killed militants.
Furthermore, police tweeted that “IGP Kashmir congratulates Shopian police & SFs for eliminating JeM commander militant Sajjad Afghani in Shopian encounter.”
As per KNB sources, internet services have been suspended in the area due to security reasons. (KNB)
