Srinagar 15 January (KNB): Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Commissioner, Gazanfar Ali conducted surprise visits on Friday in various bakery shops, food establishments to check the rate lists of various food items including mutton and chicken.
As per the statement issued to Kashmir News Bureau, Ali visited many food joints including bakery shops and other confectionery in various areas including Lal Chowk, Poloview, Rainawari, Khanyar and others to check the hygiene and quality of food to be prepared and served to the public.
Ali passed on directions to many food establishments and bakery shops for maintaining proper standards of hygiene and also asked food handlers to wear proper head gears and take other necessary measures while handling and serving food to people.
“Those bakery shops or food outlets who fail to comply with the directions shall have to face severe action under law,” said Ali. .
Meanwhile the enforcement team on the directions of SMC Commissioner promptly removed huge icicles that were unsafely hanging under the flyover from Jahangir Chowk to Rambagh for the safety of general public. (KNB)
