Srinagar, Mar 03 (KNB): Following the strong resentment by several socio-political parties over the participation of Senior Cabinet Ministers of the PDP-BJP Government in the Hindu Ekta Manch ‘communal’ event in wake of the 8-yrs-old girl Asifa rape and murder case, the state minister Syed Altaf Bukhari on Saturday said that the investigations into Kathua case is being investigated in a very professional manner and would be brought to its logical end very soon.
“This unfortunate incident is being treated purely on humanitarian grounds and I don’t think there is any scope for playing politics on this issue,” Bukhari said on the sidelines of a function organized by department of education at Kothibagh Higher Secondary School here.
National Conference on Saturday termed the participation of Senior Cabinet Ministers of the PDP-BJP Government in the Hindu Ekta Manch event at Kathua as an open challenge to the authority of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and said this was a conclusive proof that Ministers of the Government were interfering into the ongoing criminal investigation of the heinous rape and murder of an 8 year old child.
Earlier the moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference castigating the ‘Hindu Ekta Manch’ for using rape of 8 year girl Asifa rape and murder incident as a tool for petty politicking and spreading communal hatred. The APHC said the way BJP is supporting these communal forces reflects their bad intentions, adding, giving it a political color is not only condemnable but also shameful.
Pertinent to mention here, Asifa a 8 years old girl from Gujjar Muslim Community in Kathua was tortured, raped and killed allegedly by SPO Deepak Khajuria.
Several protest rallies in Jammu and Srinagar as well were held in solidarity with Asifa where participants demanded stern action against the accused. In this regard a candlelight vigil is also proposed to be held on March 4, 2018 (6PM) at Press Colony, Srinagar led by young social activist and journalist Peer Viqar Ul Aslam. (KNB)
