Srinagar, Jan 01 (KNB): Hailing from Sadakadal area of Downtown Srinagar, Faizan Hasan Khan is the symbol of hope, positivity for the youth of Kashmir. At the very tender age of 16 in 2006 he rose against all odds to run the dream project NGO Mukhtar Memorial Society of his late father to serve the society. He has under the banner of his organization worked on burning issues like drug addiction and female feticide.
From getting youth out of the evil of drug menace to undertake several projects on women Faizan Hasan Khan has always kept fighting social evils his priority number one.
While talking to Kashmir News Bureau, Faizan Hassan Khan states – “The sad demise of father prompted me to turn his dream NGO into a reality. With determination, urge to serve humanity the journey has so far been awesome. We have rendered helping hand to scores of families. Our organization has conducted hundreds of awareness programs, seminars and workshops directed to sensitize the community on various issues like Cancer, AIDS, Drug Addiction, Dowry, Female Feticide and Violence against women. We are determined to root out burning vices like growing drug addiction and female feticide from our society.”
Pertinently, the report prepared by the NGO run by Faizaan Khan on the serious issue of Female Feticide was taken quite seriously and recognized by the previous government lead by former CM Omar Abdullah.
In the March of 2008 when Kashmir was in great turmoil and the people had to face continued inconvenience due to strikes and curfews his organization rendered helping hand to many and played also quite brilliant role in the devastating floods of 2014 in relief and rescue efforts .
Pertinently, for his outstanding contribution in relief and rescue operation in 2014 devastating floods, Faizaan was felicitated by several occasions including by Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
Faizan Hasan Khan is certainly among the unsung heroes who believe in rendering a helping hand without craving for helping hand. (KNB)
