JKBOSE Declares Class 10 Results; Overall Pass Percentage at 84%

Srinagar, Jan 14 (KNB): The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced the results of the annual regular Class 10 examinations, recording an overall pass percentage of 84.04.

Officials told news agency Kashmir News Bureau that over 94,000 students appeared in the Class 10 annual regular examinations, which began on November 3 in the Kashmir division.

JKBOSE had established 994 examination centres across the Kashmir region for the smooth conduct of the exams. Of the total candidates, 68,804 students were from ten districts of the Kashmir division, while 25,224 candidates belonged to eight districts of the winter zone areas of the Jammu division. Additionally, 660 students from Kargil and 95 from Leh district also appeared in the examinations.

Earlier, the BOSE Secretary had stated that nearly 95,000 students were enrolled for the Class 10 examinations, for whom 994 examination centres were set up.

Meanwhile, JKBOSE had granted a 15 percent syllabus relaxation for students of Classes 10, 11 and 12. According to a notification issued by the Director Academics, the decision was taken on the recommendations of the Directorates of School Education Kashmir and Jammu, as well as representations from other stakeholders, in view of the delayed academic session and disruptions caused by heatwaves, heavy rains, cloudbursts and floods.

“As approved by the competent authority, eligible students appearing in Classes 10, 11 and 12 in the annual regular 2025 examinations in the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of the Jammu division, including the Union Territory of Ladakh, shall attempt 85 percent marks corresponding to 100 percent marks, thereby availing a 15 percent relaxation in syllabus,” the notification reads.(KNB)
