13 under observation Srinagar after coming in contact with coronavirus patient in Khanyar

Srinagar, March 20(KNB): Family members of Khanyar lady who was tested positive for the covid-19 among 13 persons  have been identified by the authorities of Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, a 65-year-old lady from Khanyar who arrived Srinagar on March 16 from Jeddah along with 40 other pilgrims was tested positive making it the first case of covid-19 in Kashmir valley.

Soon after the outbreak of first positive case of novel caronavirus strict restrictions were imposed in different districts of the valley including Kupwara, Budgam, Pulwama, Baramullah, Anantnag and Srinagar amid the growing threat of coronavirus spread in the valley.

According to the officials they had identified 13 contact persons of the COVID-19 positive case and put them in quarantine, including four at SKIMS,her daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren.

Meanwhile, son, daughter and their two children have been home quarantined along with her younger daughter and her child.

Pertinently, SSP-rank officer, who is the son-in-law of the woman and his wife have been tested negative.

Nodal official for Covid-19 Kashmir Dr Manzoor Qadri said authorities have been trying to trace all people whom she might had contacted.

Meanwhile, the patron of Dar-ul-Uloom Rahimiya Moulana Rahmatulalh Qasimi urged Imams to restrict Friday sermons and to conclude two rakat prayers within shortest possible time, he also urged Imams to hold special prayers to see refuge from Almighty Allah from deadly disease Covid-19.(KNB)
