PDP likely to nominate Nizamuddin Bhat as parliamentary candidate from North Kashmir

Srinagar 20 Jan (KNB): People Democratic party is likely going to nominate the senior leader Nizamuddin Bhat as the parliamentary candidate for upcoming Parliament elections from North Kashmir.

According to sources, the party President PDP and former Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti will make announcement soon.




Nizamuddin bhat hails from the Bandipora district of the North Kashmir, who is also Party’s State General Secretary. He defeated his rival in 2008 election, but faced defeat from Congress leader Usman Abdul Majid by 3700 votes in 2014 assembly Election.

Nizamuddin bhat is one of  core member of the PDP party and has been the part of the party since it was founded in 2002 by the Chief patron and  former chief minister Mufti Mohammed sayeed.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nizamuddin Bhat has served as Vice-chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Wakf and recently submitted his resignation to  former Governor of J&K. (KNB)
